Submission Guidelines

The rules for submitting your articles to TEXT CAFE are really very simple, but they must be followed.

Before we tell you the rules, we like you to know that there is one very basic business question we ask ourselves before considering an article for publication.

“Will an ezine or similar publication looking for content reprint this article without the publication looking like a promotion flyer or a product catalogue?”

If the answer is yes, then we consider the article and we continue our review. If the answer is no, the article is removed outright.

That question out of the way, here are the rules:

1. The articles that you submit must be your own original work.

All articles are monitored and reviewed by our editorial staff. You may not submit articles written by other authors and the content must be unique. The use of re-branded articles (by changing the article title) is not allowed. A script is run against submitted articles and all articles duplicated articles are automatically deleted.

You must be the sole copyright holder for each article you submit. Articles written by a ghost writer are perfectly acceptable as long as they are being used only by yourself.

2. Articles should meet the following content elements:

(a) Only articles written in English may be considered.

(b) We view an article less than 450 words as something that is not enough to cover a topic or subject.

(b) Title is a minimum of 20 characters and maximum of 80 characters. Do not use all UPPERCASES or lowercases in the title of your article. Use the conventional Upper and lower cases when entering the title of your article.

(c) Only one category can be assigned to an article

(d) Maximum of 3 tags allowed per article

(d) Maximum of 2 links allowed per article (see item 5 below)

3. Articles must be spell-checked and proof read for grammatical errors prior to submitting.

Please do not submit articles with spelling errors and bad grammar. Articles with errors in spelling and grammar are removed outright. Do not use all CAPITAL letters in your article subject. Please observe proper paragraph and line breaks to ensure readability of your articles.

As an additional service to contributors, there is a “proof read” facility in our postings pages that you are encouraged to use. The “proof reader” underlines or highlights words with errors in spelling.

4. Articles containing hate, racism, warez, pornography, or any other illegal material, are not accepted. Note too that articles promoting alcoholism, and male virility enhancement material will be immediately rejected.

5. Please remember that TEXT CAFE is not a billboard, a classifieds website, or a junkmail letterbox.

Articles that are blatant advertisement of a company, a product or service will be immediately removed.

Articles you submit to TEXT CAFE should not contain affiliate links. It is acceptable to mention the URLs of helpful sites or your own website which redirects the readers to the recommended product, but limit the URLs to a maximum of 2 URLs in each article. Also, these URLs should be cited as an endnote to the article (resource box) and NOT inside the article. URLs found elsewhere in the article are not allowed. If the article is accepted for publication, such URLs will be removed. Otherwise, the article will simply be deleted.

Tags? Yes, we do allow tags. In fact we encourage you to use tags. But use tags that are meaningful. A maximum of 3 tags is allowed in each article.

6. Articles containing images and scripts are not allowed.

These articles will have such components removed by our editorial staff or be declined outright.
